Radiology is a medical specialty that uses imaging to diagnose and treat disease visualized within the human body. A radiologist is a medical doctor who specializes in diagnosing and treating diseases and injuries using medical imaging techniques. Besides traditional X-rays, there are additional services available that aid in the diagnosis of disease processes including ultrasound, CT, MRI, nuclear medicine, mammography and PET scans.
