Bates
County Memorial Hospital Ambulance provides 24 hour, 7
day a week Advanced Life Support Paramedic services utilizing 4 ambulances to cover a 900 square mile
area with 18,000 residents. Paramedics are certified in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac
Life Support, Basic Trauma Life, and Pediatric Advanced Life
Support.

Bates
County Ambulance holds the distinction of being the FIRST Rural
EMS provider in the United States to place into Field Trial using
the
PYNG FAST 1
Adult
Intraosseous device. This product, when used by trained
personnel, provides rapid (60 seconds or less) fluid, blood, and
medication infusion access to the medical or trauma patient. Bates
County Ambulance is proud to have been chosen as a test site and
continue to use, evaluate and provide feedback to the developers
of this research. The ambulance service functions under protocols
that include RSI, CPAP, and 12 lead ECG use in the field.
