There
is an entrance directly into the Emergency Department from
the Ambulance bays. The Emergency
Department is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by
qualified Emergency Room Physicians. Registered
Nurses and Paramedics complete this staff. All RN's
and Paramedics are Certified every two years in Advanced
Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and many have certification in other
advanced areas of practice, such as Trauma nursing.
The
Emergency Department sees over 8000 patients per year.
There is an ongoing quality assurance program in place, that
reviews care given to assure that practice standards are
consistently met. Through patient satisfaction
surveys, record review, and staff education, Bates County
Memorial Hospital strives to improve services in order
to provide superior Emergency care for the citizens of Bates
County and surrounding areas.
