Emergency Services 

The Emergency Department at Bates County Memorial Hospital features a spacious 13-bed unit. Seven of these beds are in a normal open-bay ER setting. The remaining 5 beds are treatment rooms designated to care for orthopedic, OB/GYN, and psych cases. The open desk area allows for direct observation of patients at all times. Central monitoring allows visual electronic recording of patient vital signs.

There is an entrance directly into the Emergency Department from the Ambulance bays.  The Emergency Department is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by qualified Emergency Room Physicians.  Registered Nurses and Paramedics complete this staff.  All RN's and Paramedics are Certified every two years in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and many have certification in other advanced areas of practice, such as Trauma nursing.  The Emergency Department sees over 8000 patients per year.  There is an ongoing quality assurance program in place, that reviews care given to assure that practice standards are consistently met.  Through patient satisfaction surveys, record review, and staff education, Bates County Memorial Hospital strives to improve services in order to provide superior Emergency care for the citizens of Bates County and surrounding areas.     Contact Kelly Phillips at 660-200-7119 or use our on-line contact form.
