Audiology is the branch of science and medicine concerned with the sense of hearing. Practitioners of audiology are Audiologists, and treat patients with hearing loss, balance issues and related problems.

Patients who are concerned about hearing loss may visit an audiologist to learn the degree to which they have lost their hearing, whether a hearing aid is required, and receive treatment to experience a better quality of life.

An audiologist’s services include hearing screenings, comprehensive hearing evaluations, hearing aid services (fittings, adjustments), cerumen (ear wax) removal, and follow up care. An audiologist can also evaluate and treat a patient for balance issues and tinnitus (ringing in the ears).
