| Who We Are |
|
| In 1998, the Board of
Directors of Bates County Memorial Hospital (BCMH) created a
"Charitable Foundation" in order to provide charitable and
educational services for the benefit of BCMH, its employees
and the community. Bates County Community Health
Foundation (BCCHF) qualifies as a tax-exempt organization
under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
Contributions made to this organization are tax deductible. |

| MISSION STATEMENTS |

Bates County
Community Health Foundation has a mission to:
* Create
opportunities for caring individuals and families in our
area to participate in providing top-quality health care
for all residents of Bates County and the surrounding
area.
* Work to improve
the quality and availability of health services to the
Bates County area.
* Support the
health and well-beling of the surrounding area by
connecting resources with needs in the community.
* Secure
assets for the advancement of charitable, scientific and
education activities in and around the Bates County
community.

Scholarships |
|
|
Louis E. Gehm, Jr., M.D. Scholarship
-
Dr. Gehm was the Radiologist
at Bates County Memorial Hospital from 1977 to 1998 when
he retired due to ill health. Upon his death on
June 2, 2001, Dr. Gehm’s family established a medical
scholarship in his memory. The scholarship is for
4-years, payable $500 per semester, for a total of
$4,000, provided that the recipient stays in a
healthcare field and maintains the required. GPA.
BCCHF $1,000 Healthcare Scholarship
BCCHF offers a one year
$1,000 scholarship, payable $500 per semester.
Applicants must reside in Bates County and must have
already been accepted into a healthcare program.

Memorial Tree
Ornaments
The
Foundation places a Memory Tree at Bates County
Memorial Hospital each Christmas. Ornaments
designated in memory of a friend or a loved one
are available for a donation. |
Trail Of
Memories
The Trail of Memories
is located in Butler, Missouri on the West side
of the Aquatic Park. The Trail extends north
through the City Park and across High Street to
the Bates County Memorial Hospital campus.
Trees and benches are available for purchase in
memory of loved ones. To learn more about the
