Bates County Memorial Hospital is proud to announce the recent addition of the Hitachi AIRIS II Magnetic Resonance (MR) imaging system which features a unique, award winning, open-air gantry design that provides maximum patient comfort. The AIRIS II has advanced performance features for excellent image quality over a wide range of patients and clinical studies. 

Acquisition of  this system gives local physicians and physicians in surrounding communities access to the most advanced diagnostic imaging techniques currently available in the health care industry.

 

The Hitachi AIRIS II offers the comfortable approach to leading-edge diagnostic imaging. 

·          Innovative open-air design reduces patient anxiety and claustrophobia for greater comfort.

·          Restful, spacious MRI suite designed for patients who need to be accompanied by a parent or caregiver.

·          Advanced technology for superb image resolution and tissue contrast.

·          Advanced applications such as MR angiography.

·          Large gantry opening, accommodating patients weighing up to 450 pounds.

·          No loud, clanging noises.

Will accept referrals from any Physician.  All test results are sent to the Physician of your choice.

 

RADIOLOGIST

Kenneth Jacob, M.D., Medical Director of Radiology Services at Bates County Memorial Hospital, interprets the MRI procedures. Dr. Jacob is Board Certified in Radiology and has been reading medical MRI scans since 1986.  He is a former chairman of Diagnostic Radiology at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri.

  Dr. Jacob is the medical director at Regional MRI in Overland Park, Kansas, and the medical imager for Dodge City Diagnostics in Dodge City, Kansas. Both of these facilities have the Hitachi AIRIS II system.

  Dr. Jacob works closely with the medical staff and MRI technologists to ensure imaging techniques for optimal image quality  for patients.

 

IMAGE  NETWORKING

Bates County Memorial Hospital’s Department of Imaging Services provides digital imaging. This service offers physicians the opportunity, via internet access, to review a patient’s MR images, as well as other diagnostic procedures.
