Emily Johnston, RN, MSN, FNP-C, CNN-NP

 

Emily Johnston is a Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in renal disease and dialysis, now seeing patients at Bates County Memorial Hospital’s Outpatient Specialty Clinics.

Emily Johnston graduated from Saint Luke’s College of Health Sciences in 2010 with her Bachelors of Science in Nursing. Upon graduation from nursing school, Emily started her career on the Renal Transplant/Dialysis Unit at Saint Luke’s Hospital. Emily decided to further her education by attending graduate school and received her Masters of Science in Nursing, as a Family Nurse Practitioner from University of Central Missouri in May 2015.

Emily’s passion for the complex and challenging nature of the renal population led her to pursue a position as a nephrology nurse practitioner and joined Kansas City Kidney Consultants in June 2015. In 2021, Emily confirmed her expertise in Nephrology and obtained certification as a Certified Nephrology Nurse Practitioner (CNN-NP).

Emily has a great deal of knowledge and experience in managing acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, end stage kidney disease and kidney transplant.

Emily is a mom of three and enjoys spending free time with her husband, children, their dog and friends.  She enjoys reading, knitting and drinking coffee, and will happily engage in conversations about houseplants.
