BCMH Auxiliary Volunteers
About Our Volunteers
The Bates County Memorial Hospital (BCMH) Auxiliary Volunteers are a special group of men and women who come together for one purpose: to provide support to the hospital staff and raise money to purchase medical equipment and room furnishings. In 2022, the Auxiliary donated over 4,600 service hours, and donated $25,000 to help the hospital purchase needed items to provide quality patient care. Our volunteers enjoy doing a variety of tasks, and spearheading special projects for the hospital as well as the community, such as their annual Operation Sock-It-To-Me campaign. Their service to our employees include special recognition events We are proud of the accomplishments of our Auxiliary. They were recognized as “Auxiliary of the Year in 1999″ by the Missouri Hospital Association (MHA) of Hospital Auxiliaries for their exceptional efforts in a small hospital. The Auxiliary was also awarded “Auxiliary of the Year in 2005.” In December 2011, our Auxiliary received the honor of being number one for a hospital Auxiliary under 60 members at the MHA state convention.
Auxiliary Gift Shop
The Bates County Memorial Hospital (BCMH) Gift Shop is located in the front lobby of the hospital and is open Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm. The gift shop is managed and operated by Auxiliary volunteers. Revenue from the Gift Shop assists in funding needed items and equipment for the hospital.

Volunteers Needed!
Give the gift of your time volunteering for our hospital with the BCMH Auxiliary. Auxiliary members usually dedicate four to five hours a week performing a wide range of duties. Some choose to work in the Gift Shop and others staff the Information Desk, and help with fundraising events. Each volunteer receives recognition for hours of service and free meals while volunteering. As an Auxiliary Volunteer, you will have the satisfaction of knowing you are making a contribution to improving the health of our community.
